The Night Raiders

Night Raiders Members Old and new.  This band was brought together by chance.

Two bands were at a battle of the bands.  I believe it was the Penatraters and the Revenueors.  As a result of the battle, Monty -keyboards and Larry - guitar and vocals formed the base for The Night Raiders. They soon picked up drummer and vocals Ron Stern and Larry Bone on bass and vocals. They picked up Tom Peterson, sax and vocal who appears on the cut "Girl Night & Day". He was only with the band a short time.  Tom was replaced a short time later by Vaughn McKelvey - guitar and vocals and TNR was born.

The Night Raiders album was recorded and mastered at Valtron Recording Studios in Helena on acetate.

Band around at the time were doing instumentals by the Ventures and the Markett's and so on. TNR came to the stage belting out vocals by Manford Man, The Rolling Stones, Paul Revere & and Raiders, and many more.  A new music revolution was on the scene in Helena Montana.

It has been a long journey from 1965 to 2022 for the guys.

Dave Martens founded a project in Missoula called "Lost Sounds of Montana. From that time, TNR has their music in a compilation album produced for the Lost Sounds project, their music is in a Inde move made in Montana called "I'm A Patriot".

2022 is here and there is a reissue of the Night Raiders album in the works...
